Presenter Jay Sampson
Roles & Responsibilities
Jay leads Brown & Brown’s Risk Optimization Group, which is
comprised of the alternative risk, captive management,
actuarial, analytics, claims, risk control, and ZOOM® teams and
resources. He is responsible for structuring the group to provide
the best service and most innovative solutions for clients. With
more than 25 years of experience, Jay has extensive
knowledge on primary and excess casualty insurance coverage
and structures, property insurance and captive utilization.
Prior to joining Brown & Brown, Jay worked at Aon Risk
Services for 18 years. Holding several positions during his
tenure at Aon, he spent the last several years managing the
client executive practice for Atlanta, acting as the
Strategic Account Manager for most of Aon’s largest clients
in the southeast and managing the largest clients in the Atlanta
office. Jay began his career in the risk management department
of Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, which gave him
an acute understanding of the challenges risk managers face
and the need for superior service from their risk advisors.
Jay holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from
the University of Georgia with a major in Risk Management and
Insurance. He also served on the advisory board for Georgia
State University’s Center for Enterprise Risk Management.
