Jana Utter serves as the Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) for Centene Corporation, a Fortune 50 multinational healthcare enterprise headquartered in St. Louis. She is responsible for ERM and managing Centene's environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy and reporting. Jana is also responsible for the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment and Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure reporting processes. She was directly involved in the implementation of the RSA Archer GRC Platform to support and further integrate regulatory and corporate compliance, ERM, security risk management, and third party governance processes company-wide.
Prior to Centene, Jana held various compliance, risk, and insurance roles in the energy and financial technology services sectors. She also spent a number of years as a natural gas trader in Houston.
Jana was actively involved with the Committee of Chief Risk Officers (CCRO). She served on the CCRO board and co-authored and contributed to several published white papers on risk management and compliance topics. Presently she serves as the Chair of the Strategic and Enterprise Risk Management Council of RIMS (the Risk Management Society).
She holds degrees in accounting and finance from Abilene Christian University, Abilene, Texas and is a graduate of the Executive MBA program at University of Missouri - Kansas City. Jana is a member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics and holds the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) designation.
