President's Letter

MRIMS February President’s Letter

February 26, 2024

Dear Fellow MRIMS members,

I trust that this letter finds you well. The MRIMS board is very excited to invite you to our annual MRIMS Spring Conference scheduled for Thursday March 21, 2024: Risk Resilience:  Charting New Horizons in Insurance Strategy and Leadership. Together we will hear from industry leaders on topics ranging from Parametrics for climate-related risks, managing a business interruption claim, and a fireside chat with guidance about connecting c-suite business objectives to risk management strategies. We will finish the conference with a Risk Manager roundtable, where your fellow risk managers will discuss how they apply principles learned in the conference. Breakfast and lunch will be served, which will allow for networking and sharing.

Thank you to all you attend our February educational meeting that drew attendance from all MRIMs communities. We thank Marshall Gilinksy, Anderson Kill, who presented on Complex Coverage Disputes.

Please mark your calendars for our annual Spring 2024 events:

We are so pleased to have heard from many of you asking how to be more involved in MRIMS.  If you are considering getting more engaged in the risk & insurance community, please let us know. There are several ways, including volunteering to staff events and meetings to becoming a board member.

We are looking to add 2-3 new board members in 2024. If your role is a risk/insurance management or a claims management professional for a company, college, university, or organization, please reach out to any current board member to express your interest. We will host a web meeting to share information about the board roles, responsibilities and time commitment and answer any questions you may have.

If you are interested in hosting an event or speaking at a future educational session, please reach out to Aldo Guerrero or Kara Wordell.

If you would like to volunteer to help at the Annual Golf Outing, please contact Joe DiLauro.

We are very pleased with how engaged the Risk & Insurance community is as we start 2024 and look forward to seeing everyone at an event this Spring.

Fondly,

Kara Wordell, President, Iron Mountain

Joseph DiLauro, Vice President, State Street

Anastos Chiavaras, Treasurer, Boston College

Jennifer Blair, Secretary, Bose Corporation
