Rick Roberts served as RIMS Society President for 2015 and has worked in risk management for 30 years. Mr. Roberts has experience in the financial services (Aetna), manufacturing (Ensign-Bickford Industries) and real estate (both companies) industries. He presently manages the enterprise risk management program, designs and develops risk financing programs, and negotiates the employee benefits programs for Ensign-Bickford Industries ("EBI"). EBI is a diversified manufacturer of: i) explosive assemblies for aircraft, spacecraft and defense products; and ii) pet food additive products. EBI also does chemical toll manufacturing and real estate management. Mr. Roberts also developed a Strategic Risk Assessment model used to help assess and mitigate risks. Additional responsibilities have included managing the company's medical department, security department and coordinating business resiliency planning for the company.
Mr. Roberts is a past president of the Board of Trustees of the Aircraft Builders Council in London (2012 to 2014) where he spearheaded marketing efforts to increase the visibility of the ABC to the aviation marketplace and the number of insureds. He also currently serves as president of RIMS Connecticut Valley chapter and has participated on various RIMS Committees: Research (2000-2002), Nominating (2000-2006) and the Quality Advisory Council (2006 to 2008).
