Detroit Cristo Rey High School (DCRHS) is a coed Catholic high school that provides high-quality college preparatory education to students of all denominations from economically disadvantaged families in Detroit. All students at Cristo Rey participate in a work study program through which they finance the majority of the cost of their education, gain real world job experience, grow in self-confidence, realize the relevance of their education, and look forward to a brighter future.
There are 80 Detroit-area companies currently employing Cristo Rey students.
In every case, an employee at the company heard about the school, decided to investigate it further, determined that it was a successful, meaningful program, and helped make it happen.
In the spirit of our chapter motto “Moving Forward While Giving Back,” Mike Khoury, DCRHS President, will explain the Cristo Rey mission and how your workplace can get involved.
